Early Childhood Development Scaling Officer

Job Overview/Summary:
The ECD Scaling Officer will work closely with the ECD Manager and Coordinator to ensure design and implementation of capacity building plan in IRC’s program implementing/ integrating ECD Programs including building the capacity of staff, volunteers and partners.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Support the ECD Scaling Officer in conducting staff assessment for the selected partner and design the capacity building plan.
  • Support ECD in implementing the capacity building plan for the partner including on-the-job training package for Reach Up and Learn curriculum; as well as Family Makes a Difference.
  • Follow-up the implementation of the training plan (on-the-job) and provide individual feedback for all participants.
  • Prepare inputs for the post training assessment of the national partner and provide recommendations for the phasing out plan in relation to staff training and duration and modalities of the hand-over.
  • Support the ECD Manager with technical advice from the ECD Coordinator to conduct a training needs assessment for the IRC staff in all programs integrating ECD activities.

Position Reports to:  ECD Manager
Position directly supervises:  N/A

Indirect Reporting: ECD Coordinator
Other Internal and/or external contacts: 

Internal: Case Workers, Outreach Officer, Senior BID Officers, Senior Data Officer and Senior Child Protection Officer.
External:  local partners, UNICEF and UNHCR
 

Job Requirements:
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or relevant fields or equivalent technical training and experience in Child Development/ Child Protection or other relevant experience.
 Experience
  • Approximately 2- 3 years of relevant working experience in Early Childhood Development Programs and humanitarian Context.
  • Proven experience in developing capacity building assessments, plans and delivering workshops with various stakeholders.
Skills and Abilities
  1. Must be able to function independently and with minimum supervision.
  2. Have good communication skills.
  3. Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English
  4. Have excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  5. Excellent computer skills (including the ability to use Excel and Microsoft Outlook).
  6. Team work
Working Environment:  Azraq and Zaatari Camps are currently not assessed as a high-risk environment and remains generally safe as long as the IRC security protocols are observed.
