Driver and Logistics Assistant


ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION
Based in Amman, the Driver, and Logistics Assistant works under the direct supervision of the BORA Administrative Support Officer. He/she is an experienced driver. The Driver and Logistics Assistant tasks are conducted according to strict procedures and codes of conduct governing humanitarian work.  In addition, the Driver and Logistics Assistant is also responsible for ensuring that the SIF operational principles are in place and applied in all tasks particularly those in link with persons (colleagues, beneficiaries, Jordanians, foreigners, refugees, suppliers and particularly women and children).
He/she is:
-Part of the BORA means of function team, as a key player;
-Expected to transport persons and goods in a safe and efficient manner;
-Expected to perform specific Logistics tasks.

MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Objective 1: Transport persons, material and equipment:

Activities:

-Transports persons and goods in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring road and traffic regulations are respected, from the said location to the next said location, without any detour ;
-Participate in loading and off-loading of the vehicle ;
-Participate in preparation and implementation of planning, adapting to modifications decided.

Objective 2: Ensure care and maintenance follow-up of SIF BORA vehicle:

Activities:

-Carry out daily checks before starting up the motor;
-Keep the vehicle clean;
-Follow-up all vehicle-related expenditures and report them (fuel, accessories, ...).

Objective 3: Carry out specific logistic tasks under the strict supervision of the Administrative Support Officer:

Activities:

-Perform and supervise repairs, improvements and maintenance in the SIF BORA premises (Guest House and Office) ;
-Receive quotations, bills, invoices and price lists;
-Deliver and receive official letters;
-Make some payments;
-Perform organised and basic purchases ;
-Participate actively in any movement of SIF furniture material and equipment;
-Ensure installation, maintenance and repairs of equipment.

Objective 4: Reporting

Activities:

-Write reports related to the vehicles in the logbook;
-Write reports related to logistic tasks performed using forms provided.

This list is not limited;the employee may be required to perform any other task necessary and compatible with its functions.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIOR
-Successful completion of secondary education;
-Knowledge in basic mechanic, handy work, and logistic tasks;
-1 to 3 years experience as a driver ;
-Knowledge of international Non-Governmental Organisations/Work experience in INGO appreciated ;
-Basic computer skills;
-Very good communication skills and team player;
-Fluent in Arabic. Good command in English languages is required ;
-Experience in writing basic reports in English ;
-Organised, patient, calm and responsible person;
-Flexibility and adaptability are required ;
-Valid Jordanian driving license is mandatory.
