           Duty Station           : Amman

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Context:
Under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission and Emergency Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Operations Coordinator, the Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for performing tasks related to stock receiving, dispatch, inventory, and supervision of stacking, packing and reporting. This includes safely unloading trucks and unpacking received product, comparing the purchase order to the product received for accuracy, counting quantities of items received and ensuring the quality of the product is at an acceptable level, and removing damaged or non-conforming items. In addition, the incumbent would ensure safe transfer of materials from goods receiving area to warehouse or dispensing locations and ensure proper stock rotation. The Warehouse Assistant also conducts shelf/stack counts for accuracy.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Safely unpack and evaluate incoming items for correct count as per the packing list and purchase orders.
2. Label and mark received commodities and prepare for warehouse transfer as per the floor and stacking plan.
3. Update commodity tracking tools such stock cards/bin cards, stock registers and data bases as per the systems and procedures in place
4. Prepare relevant documentation in relation to deliveries such as GRN, waybills, goods damage report, non-conformity report etc. as per IOMs warehouse guidelines and procedures.
5. Maintain all related paper work properly filed as per the audit guidelines and warehouse operations manual
6. Assist in monitoring daily wage workers for day to day tasks and any related paper work is submitted to the office in a timely manner such as payment request or attendance sheets
7. Safe operation of material handling equipment and hand tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks (manual and electric), carts, dollies, box cutters, wire cutters, etc.—to unload trucks and stock the warehouse. Ensure stock rotation is done properly applying FIFO
8. Communicate discrepancies or issues as they occur to the supervisor
9. Adhere to safety protocols at all times with workers and visitors in the warehouse
10. Take responsibility of related equipment such as labelling, strapping, sealing machines, conveyor belt and other related equipment in the warehouse for safety of use and maintenance.
11. Verify all safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, alarms, cameras etc. are functional at all times. Report any non-functional equipment to the supervisor immediately. 
12. Ensure any supplies needed for warehouse operations are acquired in a timely manner
13. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor


Required Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience
• Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution in Civil or Structural Engineering with one year of relevant professional experience;    
• High school degree or equivalent diploma from an accredited academic institution, preferably in logistics, or related field with three years of relevant professional experience.

Languages
Fluent in English and Arabic, oral and written is required.
