ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
Provide outpatient consultation and medical care for patients attending the primary health care clinics. Mainly for acute medical conditions affecting children and adults and according to the clinical guidelines, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patient’s/beneficiaries health conditions
Scope of Work:
  • Carry out outpatient, prescribing the necessary treatment according to clinical guidelines, apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent diseases;
  • Request, perform, interpret and analyze Lab tests (rationally) to diagnose patients' condition. Perform patient physical examination. Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment;
  • Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, ensuring they have understood;
  • Ensure a rational prescription of medicines;
  • Ensure the quality, disinfection and sterilization of the medical material under his/her responsibility and assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards;
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the clinic manager or community health officer/ CHWs[1] about any problem or complication of the patient’s illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment or material.
  • When requested, perform training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the quality of care;
  • Respect and follow the health standard operating procedures (reporting diseases with outbreak nature, HIS reporting, referral procedures, etc.). Ensures professional confidentiality is respected;
  • Additional Tasks when requested.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in general medicine surgery – MBChB;
  • Ministry of Health work permit;
  • Registration in medical doctor’s association;
  • Post graduate internship (1 year)
  • Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience working in primary health care settings;
  • Clinical experience working in remote settings is advantage.
