Commercial Officer

Job purpose           
The role will be responsible for key commercial activities within at the company with the focus on the negotiation of bulk liquid storage contracts for clean petroleum products. The role is broad in scope and will be responsible for market development, as well as giving input and support for investment propositions. You will also have responsibility for all the development and maintenance of customer relationships in all its forms.
Key Areas of Accountabilities                              
Technical Expertise
  • Improve the overall revenue through full analysis and then provide actionable strategies to achieve this objective.
  • Responsible to the procedure and management of the working process of Commercial Department.
  • Periodically conduct market research, and provide insightful and actionable information to the company’s management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, relative authorities and establish the long-term and stable cooperation with them.
  • Develop market plans; lead to expanding the company’s market share.
  • Participate in the development of services pricing policy.
  • Undertake customer’s visit, negotiation, and quotation.
  • Manage customer’s contracts and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of customer satisfaction and operational data that impact the company’s ability to meet its targets and retain customers.
  • Decipher information, intelligence, and events in a meaningful way that will aid the business in mitigating risks.
  • Identify issues associated with daily operations and providing feedback to management on possible courses of action
  • Develop problem solutions by describing requirements in a work-flow chart and diagram; studying system capabilities; analyzing alternative solutions; preparing system specifications; writing programs.
  • Manage and execute the company’s communication and messaging activities including press releases, advisories, newsletters, websites and social media platforms.  
  • Manage content on the company’s website and social media platforms and monitor and grow engagement levels.
  • Develop the company’s CSR annual action plan.
  • Analyse & study CSR related sponsorship requests and submit briefs for approvals
  • Manage the relationship with non-profit organizations and identify the best collaboration opportunities 
  • Prepare reports and presentations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
General
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies, processes and practices at the company.
  • Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies and/ or pressure situations
  • Willingness to move between locations

Qualifications and Experience
Education and Certification
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, business management, marketing, economics or any related field
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably 3 years of experience in oil and gas terminals, petrochemicals, petroleum, ports or/and infrastructure facilities.
  • Past track record in developing business relationships with customers.
  • Experience communicating effectively at both detailed engineering and executive levels
Skills
  • Experience in relevant industry with deep business process related understanding of technical and operational processes, initiatives, market trends and industry pricing structure.
  • Excellent research skills, problem solving and investigative skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of international quality and customer satisfaction standards and guidelines. 
  • Good knowledge of computer science and applications, modeling, statistics, analytics, and math.
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Self-motivated and dependable 
  • Excellent written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.)
