Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Digital Communications Coordinator (DCC) is responsible for creating and maintaining online web and social media content for HelpAge International "Leaving No One Behind" Project. HelpAge International is expanding its capacity building efforts for inclusion of OP in humanitarian response into hard to reach areas through a distance learning digital platform.


The digital communications coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the digital learning platform is technically sound, updated, and a strong online presence is achieved.

The digital communications coordinator coordinates routine website maintenance and the creation and removal of content.

The Digital Communications Coordinator should ensure the proper implementation of the following key tasks:
• Create and maintain content for HelpAge Jordan's associated web properties and flagship social media accounts
• Establish, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines, and schedules to ensure content remains up-to-date and is continually refreshed on website
• Ensure consistency and excellence in web content quality by documenting and enforcing best practices
• Maintain content for distance learning platform and ensure it is accessible, user-friendly.
• Create content editorial calendar for website and distance learning platform.
• Monitor and report on content performance to ensure continuous improvement
• Monitor relevant online conversation and review incoming email for website feedback and questions
• Work on press releases, media advisories and coverage for activities.
• Undertake any other duties as my be assigned

Essential skills, knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate will have:

Essential
  • Fluency in Arabic & English
  • A university degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, or equivalent
  • Understanding of current media systems, traditional and new and evolving
  • Confident, competent and experienced advocate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to build good working relationships across diverse settings
  • At least three years relevant experience in communications in development settings of low and middle-income countries
  • Team-working skills and ability to work remotely.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working in humanitarian programmes
  • Experience with institutional donors (i.e. German Embassy, DFID, OFDA,)
  • Strong skills in excel, outlook, media and communication tools, and other data management software.
