Logistics Assistant - Za'atari Camp

Role Specific Information
The Logistics Assistant will support the effective operation of the NRC Logistics Team and related programme activities located in Zaatari Camp, by providing general logistics assistance in accordance with NRC Logistics policies and procedures and relevant donor guidelines.

Generic Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function​
Specific responsibilities
  • Assists in the receipt, storage, and transfer of stock from Zaatari Camp Warehousing
  • Completes and files accurate and up-to-date logistics documents incl. Goods Received Notes (GRN), Stock Request Forms, Waybill, Loss and Damage Reports, and Stock Reports
  • Participates in the monthly stock counts for Zaatari Camp Warehousing
  • Provides assistance with local procurement, in accordance with NRC procurement guidelines and thresholds, where required and as delegated by line management
  • Processes camp permit requests and facilitates camp access for vehicles and supplies
  • Any other general logistics assistance as directed by line management
Our ideal candidate:
We are looking for candidates with Vocational/Tawjihi degree or equivalent, with minimum two years’ experience as a Support Function Officer, in a humanitarian/recovery context and with familiarity with a refugee camp context.   Our ideal candidate will have gained experience working within the Logistics/Procurement sector and will be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer skills with good experience in MS Office tools (in particular MS Excel, Word and Outlook).  Fluency in Arabic and intermediate knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal are required.
We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels and who can analyse data for informed decisions.

Additional Information:
Contract period: Through to 31st December 2018
Salary/benefits: 719 JOD (subject to social security and Income tax)
Duty station: Za'atari Camp
NRC may be required to verify the identity of its partners and to check that its partners have not been involved in illegal activities.
