English Language Program Assistant

Position Overview:
AMIDEAST Jordan is seeking a motivated and self-driven English Language Program Assistant to join the team at their offices in Amman, Jordan. The Program Assistant will assist in administrative tasks to address the needs of the English Language Department with regards to public English courses, corporate clients, private tutoring and test preparation courses as well as the Access Micro-scholarship program.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with English Language Instructors on class grades, attendance, materials and room reservations;
• Perform administrative tasks such as certificate printing, course evaluations and data collection as requested by the English Language Manager;
• Communicate and coordinate frequently, accurately, and responsibly with AMIDEAST’s office in Amman;
• Exhibit behavior and communications that reflect AMIDEAST’s goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding;
• Proctor AMIDEAST English language assessments on or off site for clients as scheduled by AMIDEAST;
• Coordinate with other members of the English Language department in support of various program processes as assigned by the Program Manager.
• Conduct publicly scheduled language placement testing sessions at AMIDEAST.
• Attend and assist in various Access program events as directed by the Access Coordinator and Program Manager.
• Assist the Access Coordinator in preparing program narrative and financial reports, interfacing with vendors, Access teachers and Access students.
• Attend Access community service events, quality assurance visits, graduations as well as preparation processes for all Access events.
• Assist in the hiring, orientation and selection of Access instructors.
• Collect and distribute invoices and payment vouchers for Access-related vendors, instructors and programs.
• Assist AMIDEAST staff in preparing statistical and narrative reports about all program or class activities and results; 
• Follow AMIDEAST standard operating procedures;
• Maintain accurate and up to date filing and records in compliance with the requirements pre-set;
• Perform any other AMIDEAST work-related duties requested by the department manager or Country Director.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,
• Proficiency in Arabic and English,
• Computer literacy in MS Office,
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities,
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills,
• Must possess problem-solving skills, be a team player and a self-starter,
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and customer service orientation,
• Availability for travel both within and outside Jordan.
