Finance Officer

Role Specific Information
The Finance Officer in Camp is responsible for coordination, verification and reporting of all cash payments covering NRC operational in the camp and direct payments to beneficiaries in accordance with NRC Financial handbook and regulation.

Generic responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated Core Competency project portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.

    Specific responsibilities
  • Daily supervision of technical finance assistants work in Azraq camp.
  • Carry out regular cash counts in Azraq camp.
  • Verify supporting documents/timesheets for daily labors and teachers in the camp and prepare entries and documentation related to camp payments.
  • Organize for transport of cash to the camps through the security transport company.
  • Supervising the camp technical finance assistants in cash distributions and prepare reports on cash distributions and incentive labor payments.
  • Assist in the month-end accounting closing process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger and all supporting documentation.

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor degree or equivalent years, with minimum 2 years of experience. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, Experience from cash handling & reconciliation, Good cultural awareness and sensitivity, Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential.
We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels, to have the ability to analyze data and trends for informed decisions and Capacity building skills.

Additional Information:

Contract period: 12 months
Salary/benefits: 1024 JOD (subject to social security and Income tax)
Duty station: Azraq
