Project Officer

About Us
The Syrian American Medical Society Foundation (SAMS Foundation) is a nonprofit organization formed in 1998 by the medical professional diaspora. Its mission is to save lives and work to ensure a healthier future for all through medical relief and healthcare development on behalf of Syrian American healthcare professionals. SAMS Foundation is a leading advocate for a comprehensive approach to disaster relief and the protection of health systems in the Syrian conflict. 
Job Summry 
The Project officer will be responsible for the implementation of  part of SAMS projects inside Syria. S/he  will be responsible to facilitate the implementation of the project, she/he should provide vital assistance to the Programs Department in monitoring the project schedules, project progress reports and liaising with key stakeholders. Inline with SAMS guidelines and standards, She/ He will be reporting to SAMS private fund projects Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, Monitoring and Reporting:​​
  • Develop and implement work plans focused on key outputs and outcomes.
  • To keep necessary data records, beneficiary information and documentation in the project file.
  • Participate in the budget development and revision process and need assessment revision in collaboration with the functional Departments.
  • Work as a team player in providing relevant information assistance to colleagues from the other departments such as procurement, IMU, and finance dept.  and ensuring project components for which she or he is responsible are interlinked.
  • Maintain all relevant project documents in electronic and paper files.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the activities and participate in the analysis process.
  • Contribute to data entry as needed.
  • Write and submit the monthly reports to the line manager as per the pre-identified deadlines and templates.
​Project Implementation:
  • Execute the project’s tasks and activities as per the project action plan.
  • Participate in the program review, design, and implementation plan to identify the beneficiaries and their needs.
  • ​Provide support for meetings, events, training, and sessions related to this project.
Liaison and Coordination:
  • Liaise and work closely with the Directorate of Health in Dar’a governorate and SAMS field office in Dar’a governorate.
  • Fcilitate and participate in project meetings and follow up on action points.
  • Ensure communication and joint working with other SAMS projects and programs.
  • Participate in collecting and analyzing feedback from beneficiaries (questions and inquiries) and reporting it to the direct supervisor.
  • Regularly submit progress reports to the direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s   degree in Economics, Community Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or combination of relevant education and Experiences.
  • At Least 2 years of experience as a project officer in a related context.
  • Excellent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Excellent command of computer skills (especially Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
